2017 Christmas Tag

Christmas Tag 2017.png
I was tagged by the lovely Rachael at From Rachael Claire to take part in her 2017 Christmas tag. Rachael is one of the most festive people I know, which is saying something seeing as I consider myself to be pretty festive anyway! She was the perfect person to create this tag and I’ve really enjoyed taking part. At the end of the post I’m going to tag some other bloggers to take part and it would be amazing for you to go over and take a look at their blogs too. So let’s jump straight in!

Favourite Christmas Movie & Why?
Absolute cliche, but it has to be Love Actually. That or Elf. Oh, and The Holiday! All these films just scream Christmas to me and I can’t watch any of them without feeling instantly festive and excited for Christmas.

Top 3 Songs On Your Christmas Playlist?
01. All I Want For Christmas is You
02. Spaceman Came Travelling
03. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday
Bonus point: Fairy Tale of New York!

Favourite Christmas Tradition?
Decorating the Christmas Tree! Every year we buy a new Christmas decoration for the tree, I love doing this as it’s a chance to reflect on the year and choose something together. This year will be Darcie’s first turn to pick the decoration and I’m a mixture of excited and apprehensive to see what she picks!

What Is On Your Christmas Bucket List?
Going to every Christmas Market I can find, ice skating, taking Darcie to see Santa (although we’ve left this quite late and they all seem to be booked up!) and eating and drinking as much as possible over the next month.

Buddy The Elf Or Ebenezer Scrooge?
Buddy The Elf, there is not contest there.

Best Thing About Being A Parent At Christmas?
Just getting to experience the magic of Christmas through your child’s eyes. And doing all you can to make it the most special time of the year for them. Christmas before Darcie seems totally insignificant as it’s just a hundred times more exciting now!
What Is One Present You Asked For As A Child, But Never Received?
Nothing that has scarred me for life clearly. I can’t really think of anything, my parents would probably be relieved to hear that! I used to love going through the Argos catalogue and circling everything I wanted and I know I didn’t get it all (because that would have been ridiculous) but nothing really stands out to me.

Do You Have Any Christmas Eve Traditions?
We don’t have any particular Christmas Eve traditions. Now we are parents Christmas Eve is spent putting the final bits together for the big day and then usually snuggling up on the sofa with a Christmas film and some festive snacks. I’m thinking about making Darcie a Christmas Eve box this year but we’ll see if that ever actually materialises!

Which Festive Beverage Tickles Your Tinsel?
Bucks Fizz, Prosecco, mulled wine, hot chocolate, all the Costa and Starbucks drinks. Basically all of it, please!

Best Present You Ever Received?
The first year Dan and I were together he got me a gorgeous watch and necklace. It was the first time that anyone had ever bought me jewellery and I was so surprised that he picked something that I actually really loved. We hadn’t been together that long and so I was really touched by the thought that had gone into him buying that for me. (He also got me some plates that year but we won’t talk about that!!)

Sprouts On Christmas Dinner? Yay Or Nay?
I’m alright with sprouts, I don’t love them but I like them. I’ve never really got the big fuss about sprouts.

What Is Your Ideal Christmas?
Family, food and plenty to drink! All I want on Christmas is a nice relaxing day with my little family, to enjoy cooking the dinner and for everyone to love their presents and feel totally content. When Darcie gets older I want us to sit around and play board games and do all those sorts of things that you never really have the time for the rest of the year. I just want everyone to be happy at Christmas.
I really enjoyed writing that, so thank you Rachael for the tag!
I tag Emma, Amy, Theia and Kassy.
