Treat Yourself With Boohoo Maternity this Mother’s Day

I’m sure I’m not the only person who tends to lose their way a bit when it comes to maternity fashion. (If it is just me, then somebody please tell me the secret!). My maternity wardrobe basically consists of a couple of pairs of maternity jeans and lots of stretchy tops. Which is fine for the most part, but every so often I find myself so totally bored by my maternity wardrobe and completely uninspired as to what to wear. I’m conscious of my changing body and while I try hard to celebrate my bump and embrace the changes, sometimes that’s a lot easier said than done. I know that clothes play a big part in my self confidence. If I feel happy and confident in what I’m wearing, it really shows. So that’s why I’m trying harder this pregnancy to find some maternity clothes that actually make me feel really good, and ‘like myself’. I lost myself last time I was pregnant, the clothes I was wearing weren’t anything I would normally wear, and I felt so conscious of that at the time.

I was lucky enough to be offered to pick some maternity clothes from the Boohoo website as a part of their Mother’s Day campaign. The campaign is all about celebrating Mother’s and this couldn’t have come at a better time for my bump and I. I was excited to pick out some clothes as I have always admired the Boohoo maternity range and I knew I would be able to find some clothes to really boost my self confidence. The good thing about Boohoo is that the clothes are affordable enough not to break the bank but also stylish enough to make you feel pretty damn amazing throughout pregnancy.

Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone

I decided to use this opportunity to pick an outfit that was well outside of my pregnancy comfort zone. I went for these Denim Dungarees and paired them with this ‘Bonjour’ Slogan T Shirt. I LOVE dungarees and when I’m not pregnant they are always one of my go to items of clothing. I’ve had a fear of wearing them while pregnant in case they made me look bigger than I am or in case they drew too much attention to my changing body. I couldn’t have been more wrong and as soon as I put on these dungarees, I felt like myself again. I felt good, and happy with my pregnant body. I think I’m going to be living in these for the rest of my pregnancy as they’ll be good as we go into the warmer months too. They are oversized and not too fitted which means I don’t even have to think about the fact that I am likely to put some weight onto my legs over the next few months (something I was SO conscious of last time). The blue denim colour will go with everything and I can wear therm with boots in the winter and flip flops in the summer. I couldn’t be happier with this outfit.F

Feeling Floral

The next item I chose is much more in my comfort zone. I chose this pretty Open Shoulder Floral Top that will be perfect for a more dressy day, especially as we go into Spring and Summer. It will go nicely with jeans and skirts (although I tend to avoid those while pregnant) and will give me more of a confidence boost than putting on one of my go to stretchy tees. Floral prints are my go to when it comes to prints (along with stripes, obvs!) and I think this top is particularly flattering with black as the main colour but some fresh pops of colour too. I’ve always loved the cold shoulder trend and so I’m happy to be able to include it in my maternity wardrobe. The top is long enough to wear with leggings or jeans and I can see myself reaching for it more and more as the weather (hopefully!) warms up.

Let’s Get Cosy

I also picked up this Pink V Neck Oversized Jumper, because obviously I couldn’t resist a bit of knitwear. This shade of pink is  my favourite at the moment and I just find it goes so nicely with my go to denim jeans and a pair of boots for chilly days. In the summer I can layer it over dresses or snuggle up in it in the evenings. There is something so incredibly comforting about a good piece of knitwear and I’m happy that I now have this little beauty to see me through the rest of my pregnancy.

If you are currently pregnant I would really recommend checking out the Boohoo maternity range, the prices are honestly so affordable (I say that as a total maternity cheapskate!) and the range is full of on trend, gorgeous pieces that will fill you with self confidence.
