I know I probably should have posted this at the beginning of January but I hadn’t really thought too much about New Years Resolutions until now. I’ve decided to call them New Years Goals as that feels more relaxed than resolutions so maybe I’ll be more likely to achieve them, I’ll get back to you on that.
Be Body Confident
I struggled with this one long before being pregnant and giving birth, surprisingly I think my body confidence has actually improved in the last year because I am now able to recognise the amazing things my body can do outside of just the usual trying to look good in a bikini. I see my body as having achieved something, my beautiful baby girl, and that makes me truly grateful for it. Having said that, I am now at a point where I am ready and have the energy to work on my body a bit more, try to lose those last few pounds and tone up.
Make Some Dollar
I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a stay at home Mum but equally I have always been someone who needs to feel financially independent. I love making my own money and spending it knowing it is fully and solely mine to spend. I feel so lucky that Dan can provide for us but it will be really nice to be making my own money again in whichever way works best for me. I would love to have my own business and work from home and this year feels like the year I could make that happen.
Make More “Mum Friends”
It can be hard to click with new people particularly in baby group and class scenarios, I can talk to everyone and have a lot of lovely conversations with different people but it often gets left there. Last year I made an effort to maintain new friendships outside of baby groups and do things like have play dates and meet at each other’s houses, I really want to continue with this because I just know there are so many other mums out there who are also feeling a bit lonely during the week who I would get on well with and have lots in common with. I just need to find them!
Try More New Things
Recently I have started to feel quite bored with my weekly routine, I’ve been going to the same two groups every week for 3 or 4 months now and I need something new to try. It’s so important for myself and for Darcie to not become bored with our daily activities so I’m on the hunt for new groups and new classes for us to try. I would also love to find an exercise class to go to one evening in the week while Dan looks after Darcie.
Be The Best Mum I Can Be
All of these things can be summed up as just trying to become the best version of myself and therefore the best Mum to Darcie. We all want the best for our children and that has to start with us. I am excited to make these improvements for both of us and I’m feeling so positive and motivated for 2017!
What are your goals for this year?
