Pickle & Squidge Mummy To Be Box Review

Pregnancy is hard and being a new Mum is even harder. When Kate, founder of the Pickle & Squidge Mummy To Be Boxes, realised this she decided to create a product to make that transition into Motherhood that little bit smoother. The Mummy To Be Boxes were inspired by Kate’s own transition to Motherhood back in 2013. All those sleepless nights left her with time to think and be inspired to create the Pickle & Squidge brand. The Mummy To Be Boxes contain everything that Kate herself found essential during those first few months of Motherhood (and beyond!), for both mum and baby.

When I received the box I was firstly taken aback by how gorgeous the packaging is. The box itself is white and has a luxurious black ribbon wrapped around it with a Pickle & Squidge tag and even an adorable little footprint charm. Inside the box was a handwritten note from Kate and a list of all the items included with a brief explanation of why they were chosen for the box. As a second time pregnant Mum I can honestly say that if I had created a box full of all my newborn and post partum essentials, it would be almost exactly the same as what Kate has created. But she has thought of a few little extras that I am so excited to try when the time comes.

When ordering a box from the website you have three choices. There are two main versions of the box, one for mothers intending to breastfeed, and one for those not intending to. You also have the option to completely customise a box yourself and pick the items to be included. You can then add extras to each box such as a bottle of Prosecco or a Gin and Tonic, things we all know to be essential for those first few weeks of Motherhood!

I chose the breastfeeding box which contains:

Lansinoh HPA® – Lanolin is the safest, purest nipple cream and completely hypoallergenic. It has been specially developed to help soothe and protect sore, cracked nipples whilst breast feeding.

Nipple shields – For when things get a little more painful than you thought, hopefully these will help.

Notebook – For notes of feeding time/amounts, how long they slept for or just to jot down info you might forget.

Arnica – To help aid relief from swelling and bruising.

Tea tree oil – 100% Pure Essential Oil will help you heal and reduce infection.

Infacol – Relieves wind, infant colic and griping pain. Sugar, alcohol & colourant free.

Chocolate – A little treat, because you deserve it!

Batiste Dry Shampoo –  No need to worry about skipping a shampoo.

Nelson’s Teetha Teething granules – A homeopathic medicinal product for the symptomatic relief of teething pain.

Burt’s Bees Multipurpose Ointment – Petroleum-free, 100% natural baby ointment for the face, body and nappy area. No phthalates, parabens, petrolatum or SLS.

Metainium – Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment soothes and treats your baby’s nappy rash.

Snufflebabe Vapour Rub – Inhalation vapour ointment to relieve a blocked nose.

The boxes arrive within 3 days of ordering and would make an amazing gift for a baby shower or as a lovely surprise for a new mum. You really can’t go wrong with the contents of the box as it covers all angles for both mum and baby. Most of the products I would ever recommend to new mums feature in the box! Post partum isn’t a glamorous time (unless you’re Kylie Jenner maybe…) but this box feels like luxury and reminds you to take care of yourself as well as the new baby.

Thank you so much to Kate for sending me my Mummy To Be Box, I can’t wait to be able to use all these lovely items when my gorgeous newborn arrives!
If you want to buy one of these boxes for yourself or for a friend you can find them on the Pickle & Squidge website here. Prices start at £20 and I promise you won’t be disappointed!
