Preparing for Postpartum & Breastfeeding | The Products

Following the success of my post on Preparing for a Newborn I thought I would put together a similar list of some of the products that I have for myself once Ernie is born. A lot of these will be breastfeeding related and also there are just some general postpartum items on here that will hopefully be useful to someone reading this. It’s so important to remember to look after yourself when you’ve just had a baby. Yes, your priority will be on the baby, but be kind to yourself too. Your body has just undergone one of the most traumatic experiences and it’s important to take care of yourself as a priority too. So these are some of the things that I am hoping will ease me into postpartum life:

Second Pregnancy, Third Trimester

Seeing as I’m still waiting around for little Ernie bear to make an appearance, I thought I might as well write my third trimester update. I know that once he is born, I’m unlilely to get around to it any time soon and I wanted to write it while it is all still fresh in my mind. I remember that as soon as Darcie was born, all my memory of pregnancy was wiped, which is probably why I was so happy to do it again! I’m currently three days overdue and so now is as good a time as ever to tell you all how the third trimester has been.

I’m Grateful To Blogging Because

Life before blogging seems like a distant memory now. Sharing my life on the internet and building up my little community has become such a fundamental part of my life that I can’t really imagine how it would be not to have my blog. I’m grateful to blogging for so many reasons and I would always encourage anyone thinking about starting a blog to just do it. Second to starting my family, I would say it is the most positive thing I have ever done and the thing that has made the most incredible difference to my life. I’ve written a list of reasons why I am SO grateful to blogging mainly just to express some gratitude for the path my life has taken, and also to hopefully encourage anyone else thinking about it to take the plunge and start blogging.

In Anticipation Of It All | Labour, Delivery & Life With Two

It’s been a while since I’ve just sat down and wrote about how I feel so prepare yourself for a word splurge.

I’ve got to that point in pregnancy where it’s all becoming very real. The chances are that within the next week or so I’ll give birth to my baby boy and begin my new life as a mum of two. And I’d be lying if I said that I’m not currently finding that quite a daunting thought. So, as ever, I’m turning to my blog for a therapy session just to get my thoughts out of my head and onto the screen (I know, paper would sound a lot better!).

Preparing for a Newborn | Products

As D-Day approaches, I am finally getting myself sorted for the arrival of my baby boy. With my first baby I would say I was physically ready for her to arrive from around 34 weeks but never really mentally or emotionally ready. This time around it’s been the complete opposite! I’ve been much more mentally and emotionally prepared for him but probably still couldn’t call myself physically ready even at 39 weeks. I’ve been a lot more selective with buying things for my second child as I now know from experience how much money we wasted on baby paraphernalia the first time around. I’ve picked up a lot of tips and recommendations since becoming a mum and I think that has definitely led to me being fussier with what we get this time around. Rather than having a load of tat that we will never use, we’ve got a smaller selection of really good quality products that I am genuinely excited to use for our newborn. I’m sure I’ll be sharing a lot more product recommendations both on here and on Instagram once he arrives, but for now, these are some of the products I can’t wait to use.

Wooden Toys For Two Year Olds

There’s a big movement in the parenting world right now, more and more people are choosing to ‘say no to plastic’ and are opting for alternative wooden toys instead. I’m not going to pretend that my house isn’t the plastic ridden jungle that it is, but I do also make an effort to make sure that Darcie has some lovely wooden toys as well. I thought I would share some of our favourites with you in case it can give inspiration to anyone else trying to ditch some of the plastic.
