My Favourite Things About Ernie at 17 Months

Oh my little Ernie boy. I feel like he doesn’t really get much of a look in on here because essentially since he’s been born I have really struggled to find the time to sit down and write anything. Life with two can be very full on, and I actually mean that in a good way. I love that life feels so full now, the boredom I would sometimes feel at home with one baby is nowhere to be seen these days. And loneliness is mostly a thing of the past too. The only downside really to the fullness of life now is¬† that I neglect this website more than I would like. I love that I can look back at my posts from two years ago and remember all the little moments with Darcie and the different phases she’s been through. But it hit me recently that I can’t do that so easily with Ernie, because I’m just not writing the posts int he first place to ever be able to look back at them. The perfectionist in me always stops me from writing too as I hate the thought of publishing something in a rush or that I’m not super proud of. But this blog started for me, and it still is mainly for me, so I want to make more of an effort to publish more frequently again. Even if they are just posts for me to look back on, I want to make sure I’m documenting my babies as they grow. (more…)

My Hopes & Fears For Becoming A Mum Of Two | One Year On

When I became a mum for the first time, I was quite blissfully naive. None of my friends had children and while I knew that this would be a life changing thing, nothing could have prepared me for the total turnaround that my life was about to take. It took a lot of adjusting to really feel like I had found my feet as a mum and just when I got to that point – we decided to have another one! Second time around I knew more of what I was letting myself in for, I knew that my baby would cry (a lot) and I knew that they (probably) wouldn’t sleep very well. But the one thing that I felt completely ignorant to was just how life would be with two children. How would I cope at home with them both by myself? Would Darcie be mad at me for having another baby? Would they get on? The list went on! (more…)

Girly Gift Guide For Three Year Olds

We recently celebrated Darcie’s third birthday. The fact that I am even having to write that on here shows how long I’ve been neglecting this space for – however, if you follow me on Instagram you would be more than aware of that fact (sorry again blog for the recent neglect). It can be really hard to know what to buy for birthdays, especially these days when the options seem endless. With that in mind I’ve put together a list of products that Darcie is loving at the moment in the hopes that it can be useful for anyone currently in a present buying panic. This was never intended to be a ‘girly’ gift guide however when I rounded it all up a strong unicorn/fairy/pink theme became apparent. (I don’t even know if you’re allowed to say girly these days, but it just seemed like the best way to sum it up. All of these items could be for boys or girls). (more…)

My Goals For 2019

If there’s one trait that I’ve developed over the past few years, it is my total love for setting goals. I’m a strong believer in the power of writing goals down and putting them out there for the universe. Last year I didn’t do this as a blog post, but I wrote down a few very specific goals in a notebook and kept referring back to them throughout the year to see how I was doing. And I’m happy to say that I achieved most of them! This year I am going to make myself even more accountable and share them with you all here. That way I’m even more likely to work towards them and hopefully in a years time I will be sitting here writing that I have checked them off. I recently got a phone case which has the phrase ‘Don’t Stop Until You Are Proud’ written on it, and that is basically what all of these goals amount to. I want 2019 to be the year that I can say that I am proud of all areas of my life.¬†However, I think it’s important to be specific with goals and resolutions so I have split them down into categories and smaller aspirations which I will share with you now.
