I’m so pleased to finally be able to introduce my son to the world.
Ernest Grayson was born shortly after 7am on the 4th of July 2018 and weighed a huge 10lbs 6oz. He surprised us all, not only with his size but also by coming into the world facing upwards, winking at his Daddy.

It’s been a while since I’ve just sat down and wrote about how I feel so prepare yourself for a word splurge.
I’ve got to that point in pregnancy where it’s all becoming very real. The chances are that within the next week or so I’ll give birth to my baby boy and begin my new life as a mum of two. And I’d be lying if I said that I’m not currently finding that quite a daunting thought. So, as ever, I’m turning to my blog for a therapy session just to get my thoughts out of my head and onto the screen (I know, paper would sound a lot better!).

There is no denying that 2017 has been good to me and to my family. From celebrating Darcie’s first birthday to falling pregnant with baby number two, there have been so many wonderful things to celebrate this year. I won’t deny that there have been tough times too, but I’m here today to focus on the good bits. The bits that made 2017 one of the best years of my life so far. Here are my highlights: Continue reading “The Best of 2017”
This feels like Dan’s first Father’s Day, we hardly celebrated the day last year as we were still very much in the frazzled newborn haze. I managed to organise a card for him but I think that’s where the festivities began and ended. So this year I want to do it properly, I want him to know how much we appreciate his hard work and commitment to his role as Darcie’s Daddy. So this ones for you Dan, maybe this will be the first of my posts that you read to the end… Continue reading “On Father’s Day”
It’s a strange time, those first few weeks at home with a newborn. Especially if it is your first baby then your life has completely changed. Suddenly you are in charge of keeping this tiny delicate human alive and happy, your body is completely alien to you, you may be trying to suss out breastfeeding or recovering from a c-section, and you also have to co-ordinate literally everyone in your life coming to visit the new baby. Continue reading “How To Not Be A Nuisance! (When Visiting New Parents)”
About a month ago I wrote this post all about the start of our Baby Led Weaning journey which had actually begun a month before that, so I though it was about time for an update. So much has changed! She is now 8 and a half months old and we are still on the Baby Led Weaning path, she hasn’t had any purees so far and is absolutely loving her finger foods! Today has been a difficult Mummy day. To be honest it has been a difficult Mummy week, today probably wasn’t all that bad in the grand scheme of things but when you’ve had a hard week it all just seems a bit worse, doesn’t it? Continue reading “It’s Not Always Rosy”
I never thought I would have an issue with breastfeeding in public. I have always been a pretty confident person, sure of myself and my decisions. So when I was a few weeks post partum and thinking about going out and about a bit more, it surprised me that I began to feel nervous at the thought of feeding my daughter around strangers. Continue reading “Breastfeeding in Public”
Before I launch into this topic, I’d like to start with saying that of course I am not an expert on Breastfeeding nor am I against bottle feeding, this is just my story and hopefully there are other Mums out there that can relate. Continue reading “My Breastfeeding Journey”
