Little Ways to Make Mum Life Easier

Being a Mum is hard work; emotionally, mentally and physically. You definitely learn a lot when you become a Mum, you learn how to survive on little to no sleep, you learn how to do everything one-handed while holding a baby that is trying to rip out your hair and you learn how to get things done quicker and more efficiently so that once the baby is asleep you can drown yourself in white wine spritzers rather than still be running around like a madwoman. Why I’ve Stopped Reading Breastfeeding Horror Stories, And You Should Too.

You know the ones I mean. A woman is breastfeeding her baby when an ignorant  stranger starts to harass her and try to make her feel uncomfortable, then a wonderful, kind person steps in to come to her defense and save the day.  These kind of posts quickly go viral on mums groups and then in the comments below are hundreds of other people telling their similar stories. And I don’t mind that at all, I love ‘the mum life’ but I don’t love being made to feel like I am lazy or like I don’t do enough interesting things. I am raising a child, isn’t that enough for you?! Ways to Save Money as a New Mum

I have not always been good with money, in fact I used to be borderline terrible. When I was at university I would usually spend my entire loan in the first two weeks of term and then live on plain spaghetti and bites of my friends food for the rest of the month. I still don’t know if I would necessarily describe myself as ‘good’ with money but I have come a long way from where I used to be. (more…)
