Six Weeks To A Healthier Lifestyle

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen me talking at length about the six week nutritional plan that I took part in recently. I had a lot of questions over the six weeks and so I thought the best thing to do would be to collate all of my thoughts, feelings and frequently asked questions into this blog post. I hope this will be helpful for anyone looking to take part in the course. (more…)

To My Post Partum Body

To my postpartum body,

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry for a lot of things but let’s start with this. I’m sorry because this letter started out from a negative place. This letter originated from negative feelings of dissatisfaction and resentment. There’s a lot of body positivity in the media  right now, which is wonderful. Especially for mums! Women all around the world are celebrating their stretch marks, ‘mum tums’, excess skin. And as much as I see these posts and think ‘good on you!’, I’ve just never been able to relate. It’s never come naturally to me to accept you, let alone to think about loving you. (more…)

Breastfeeding is a minefield, there is no doubt about that! From the moment we decide to breastfeed it is advertised to us as the ‘easy’ and ‘natural’ way of feeding our babies. And while there is no argument that it is the most natural way to feed your baby, that certainly doesn’t mean that it is always easy. I want to start by saying that I am writing this from a positive place, and the feelings that I will talk about in this post have now passed and I couldn’t be any more in love with my beautiful boy. He is everything I ever hoped for, and gender doesn’t come into that. (more…)

Dear Darcie, I Miss You

Written 17th July 2018, photo from today 15th February 2019

Dear Darcie,

This evening when I got into bed I was suddenly struck by how much I miss you. We’ve been so busy during the days adjusting to life as a family of four that I’ve barely had time to stop and think or feel very much. But as I got into bed it hit me, I miss you – I really miss you. I miss the way things used to be, I miss being able to give you all of my attention and all of my love, every hour of every day. I miss being able to go to you as soon as you call for me, because sometimes Ernie’s needs are greater than yours. (more…)

Valentines Gift Guide

It’s that time of year again. V-Day is upon us once more, and bringing with it the old age question of what to buy for your loved one. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a problem I know I am lucky to have, but still, it can be so hard to think of new ideas each year!

I’ve been on the hunt for some lovely gift ideas and I think I’ve found some gems, so hopefully there will be something within this post to inspire you too. And you still have plenty of time to order a present or to go hunting in the shops! I’ve also decided to run a Valentines giveaway as a gift from me to you all, so stay tuned until the end of the post for more details. (more…)
