If you read my last post on What Mother’s Day Means To Me then I won’t need to tell you again just how important I think it is to celebrate Mother’s Day. I love the excuse to celebrate not just my own motherhood but all the women around me too. We’re raising the future, just as the generations before us have done. They deserve thanks and recognition, and so do we. So just in case you are stuck on what to get for your mum, or a friend, or a grandparent this Mother’s Day, here is a list of ideas that I really think you can’t go too far wrong with!
Pyjamas & Slippers
I think a lot of us are spending more time than usual at home at the moment, so what better gift could there be than some fabulous (and also very comfortable slippers) or pyjamas from Pretty You London? The designs are a gorgeous mix of classic and stylish, personally I love the leopard print but there are also plainer options for an even more timeless look. And as for the slippers – they’re another level of comfort for pottering around the house in!
Luxury Skincare
Dermalogica has been a game changer for my skin and I. Skincare is often a hard one to recommend because we all have such different skin types, but I’m yet to meet someone who has tried Dermalogica and not been a fan! The huge range of products mean there is definitely something for everyone. Personally my favourites are the Vitamin C Eye Serum and the Pre Cleanse. Having a good skincare routine actually makes me look forward to taking my make up off at the end of the day – a process I used to detest – it’s just so lovely having a little pamper before bed every night.
Flowers
Flowers make everything better – it’s just a fact! Moonpig have some lovely flowers and potted plants for Mother’s Day. And they also have letterbox flowers which is a bonus in the current situation!
A Cuppa Tea
Find me a mum who doesn’t like a cup of tea! Okay I beat you to it, my own mum doesn’t drink tea! But still, the majority of us Brits just love a good cuppa and Whittards have some lovely gift options that are perfect for Mother’s Day. The Treasured Blends set would make a lovely gift that will brighten up her mornings for many months. The set includes six different flavours so they’ll have some of their favourites in there and some new ones to try too!
Mermaid Gin
And for those mums who need something a little stronger, Mermaid Gin is here to save the day! Not only have I never seen a bottle of gin this gorgeous, but it also tastes as divine as it looks. Made local to me on the Isle of Wight, it is infused with strawberries, lemon zest and rock samphire and also comes in a plastic free bottle. Perfect on so many levels!
It’s a funny old time at the moment, which also makes it the perfect time to be a little kinder to each other and do whatever we can to make someones day a little brighter. I hope we can all enjoy Mother’s Day for what it is despite the current circumstances and that those ideas will help you think of something lovely to do for someone else (or yourself- it’s totally okay to buy yourself a Mother’s Day treat!)
