A Little Bit Of Me | Desenio Review & Discount Code

Some of you may remember this post I did in collaboration with Desenio back in January. We chose some gorgeous prints and frames for our bedroom and they really were the perfect finishing touch for our redecoration project in that room. So when we recently decided to redecorate our dining room, they were the first brand that I thought of to add that touch of something special to the project. (more…)

Cooking Up An Autumnal Storm With VonShef & Giveaway

~ sponsored content ~

I don’t know about you, but as soon as the weather turns cooler and the evenings get darker, I start pining for hearty stews, casseroles and soups. There’s just something so comforting about cosying up in the warmth at home and enjoying a proper home cooked meal. I absolutely love cooking but having a toddler means I often find myself in an endless routine of nuggets, fish fingers and sausages. When I actually cook a hearty and healthy meal that the whole family enjoy it is such a wonderful feeling! I’m on a bit of a mission to try to get Darcie to eat a wider variety of foods and this time of year just feels like the perfect time to do that.

Budgeting For Christmas

~ sponsored content ~

I know there will be eye rolls at the mention of the word ‘Christmas’ but let’s be honest, it pays to be prepared for the most expensive time of year. Although I haven’t quite started shopping for the big day, I have started to think of ways that we can start to save pennies in preparation for the multitude of things that I know I will get sucked into buying. Every year I leave it all too late and it turns into a big credit card job. But, with this being the first year that Darcie will properly enjoy the Christmas spirit, I want to make sure we can enjoy it all and eliminate the financial stress. So here are some of the things I’ve either started doing or will be doing as we get closer to the festive season. (more…)

Adding Character To The Children’s Bedrooms With Posterlounge & A Giveaway

~ sponsored content ~

You may have noticed there has been quite a theme with some of my posts recently, I’m determinedly making our house a home one room at a time. Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones and just an extreme form of ‘nesting’ but recently I’m just loving making little changes and improvements to the house to really make it somewhere that I love to be. One of my favourite ways to add character and personality to a room is by introducing prints and wall art to the space. Our whole house is painted white which I love as it is very airy and bright but I also love colour and pattern so I’ve been using wall art to introduce this all around the house. (more…)

Making Our House, Our Home | Lounge Details

I’ve written many, many posts now on the subject of making our rented house, our home. Everyone who rents will know the struggle of not wanting to spend too much money on a property that isn’t yours but also desperately wanting to put your stamp on it. We’re lucky in that we are able to decorate our house however we wish, but that does also make it harder to resist the temptation of splashing the cash to make it ‘ours’. The best way I have found to not waste money on decorating a rental property is to keep the walls simple and neutral and to create the personality with accessories. It’s all in the details. (more…)

Miele Blizzard CX1 Parquet Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner Review

At nearly 36 weeks pregnant, my nesting urges have totally taken over. All I want to do is clean, tidy and generally just make sure that my house is ready for a brand new baby boy to arrive in around a month’s time. Call me middle aged but I’m a sucker for new cleaning products and gadgets to make household chores easier. So you can only imagine my excitement when I received theĀ Miele Blizzard CX1 Parquet Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner to review. I’d been struggling with our ancient vacuum cleaner for so long and I hadn’t realised quite how badly I needed an upgrade until I tried the Miele Blizzard CX1 out. I suddenly realised how heavy our old one vacuum was and quite how basic the settings were compared to this new machine. As a mum of a toddler I spend a lot of time dragging the vacuum around and so I’m not exaggerating when I say that the Miele Blizzard CX1 has totally changed my everyday life for the better. (more…)
