Second Pregnancy, First Trimester

Now that the news is out there I feel I have a lot to update you on how this pregnancy has been so far. It was so difficult not to mention how I was feeling in blog posts or to have a quick moan about morning sickness on Twitter, but now that I can let it all out, that is exactly what this post is going to be. It could be a long one so you might want to go grab a cup of tea and get comfy.

Dear Darcie, Little, Tiny, Big Sister

16th October 2017

Dear Darcie,

Today something really special happened. You won’t understand it at all yet but today I told you something amazing, something you definitely don’t hear every day. I told you that you are going to be a big sister. I showed you a blue and white stick that had two lines on it, one very faint but definitely there, and I cried and told you how amazing it is and that Mummy is going to give you a best friend for life. You looked at me as I cried tears of happiness and you laughed and tried to grab the stick and put it in your mouth, that made me laugh and then we were both laughing while I was still crying. Pregnant Again!

Unless you are somebody who solely reads this blog and doesn’t follow me across social media, then you will probably have already seen my pregnancy announcement last week! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to share this news with the blog as we wanted to make sure we had told all of our friends and family in person, where possible, before we posted the news online. I am now 15 weeks pregnant and due on the 24th June 2018. That date seems so far away but from how quickly time has flown by since having Darcie, I just know that it will come round before we know it.

Quitting Blogmas

pexels-photo-699372.jpegThe savvy amongst you may have noticed that my heart has not been in Blogmas lately. I’ve found myself with nothing to post and having to rack my brain for ideas just to quickly get something up that day. And so for this reason, I have decided to call it a day on Blogmas. I’ve always been a quitter, I write that with pride not shame as I firmly believe that if your heart isn’t in something or it isn’t making you happy, then it is time to walk away, to quit. I don’t want my blog to become a chore and just something to tick off my to do list. I want to keep it my hobby, my passion and so I won’t be forcing myself to write content just to fill the days and tick ‘Blogmas’ off my to do list. (more…)

We All Need a Mum Friend

pexels-photo-712324.jpegA little while ago I wrote a post called The Great Thing About “Non Mummy Friends”  which had a great reception and I think a lot of you could relate to what I was saying in that post. I firmly believe that you need a mix of mum friends and non mum friends in your life but I recently realised that I had never actually written a post about how amazing Mum friends are. I feel fortunate to have a couple of really great mum friends, lots of mums that I regularly chat to at baby groups and also a whole load of amazing fellow mum blogger friends. I’m so grateful to all of these girls for making Motherhood less lonely and way more fun. We all need a mum friend sometimes, and this is why:

We all need a mum friend to tell us that everything we are feeling is normal. That they’ve had days when they’ve considered selling their kid on eBay too and that it’s okay to sometimes crack open the wine at lunchtime just to get through. (more…)
