Gift Guide 2022 | Mindful Edition

It can be hard to know what to buy for the adults in your life. Buying for children, especially my own, I find quite simple. But choosing gifts for adults is a whole other ball game. One thing that I think we could all do with a little more of in our lives, is mindfulness. And by that I mean taking time to slow down, looking after our own needs and indulging in little luxuries. So here I have put together a collection of gift ideas that you could give to someone this Christmas to facilitate a moment of slowing down, and enjoying small luxuries that they might not usually indulge in.

Hot Toddy Scented Candle from Arran Sense of Scotland

First up, is this deliciously scented candle from one of my favourite brands – Arran Sense of Scotland. This is one of those times that I really wish you could smell this candle through the screen, because it is *divine*. They have many wonderful scents, all year round, but this Hot Toddy scent is definitely my new favourite. They describe it better than I can – ‘This seasonal candle is a modern take on the traditional winter warmer. With spicy notes of nutmeg and patchouli, layered on top of the aromatic warmth and richness of vanilla and frankincense’. Lighting candles in the home is such a lovely thing to do, especially when they smell this luxurious. This is perfect gift to give to someone you care about this Christmas.

The Old Familiar Places by Sam Emony

Curling up with a good book will always be one of life’s little luxuries, and this coming of age tale by Sam Emony is the perfect book for doing just that this Christmas time. The Old Familiar Places tells the story of how one extraordinary meeting can change a life forever, set in Manchester in 1975. It’s one of those books that you can just lose yourself in, and it would be the perfect book-ish gift to give to someone who needs a reminder to slow down and curl up with a good book.

Mood Lighting from 4Lite

This Cosmos Smart Lamp from 4Lite has been one of my favourite new additions to our house. It can colour change to around 16 *million* colours, yes that’s right – million! And it also has various settings such as candlelight, summer etc that cycle colours and create such a lovely ambiance. You can control the light through an app on your phone and also through Alexa and other devices. Everyone who comes to our house always comments on how lovely it is. It feels like a little luxury in our home and that’s why I think it would be a lovely gift to give this Christmas.

Headplan Productivity & Wellness Journal

Headplan is a fabulous online store (and movement!) centred on helping people become the happiest and most fulfilled versions of themselves. As we approach a new year, this Productivity & Wellness Journal would be such a great gift to receive. With ideal ritual building pages, long and short-term goals pages, weekly planning pages, vision board pages, daily pages to plan and get the most from your day, weekly reflection pages, generous blank space to encourage free journaling and so much more too! Such a good gift to give to someone to encourage them to be mindful and make themselves a priority in 2023.

A Puzzle from Wentworths

There aren’t many things that force you to slow down and be mindful, as much as a jigsaw puzzle does. I did my first jigsaw puzzle in years, last Christmas and I’m looking forward to making time to do more this year too. Wentworths have some lovely wooden puzzles, I especially love the whimsical shaped pieces, that are a little unexpected twist from a standard puzzle. I think a puzzle would be a wonderful gift to give this year, even better if you can arrange to make an evening of completing it together.

I hope that this has been useful, and I would love to hear any mindful gift ideas that you have.
