I’ve never been one to let the weather dictate what I do and since becoming a stay at home mum, I’ve really made a point of not allowing the rain to keep us cooped up inside. I’ve often felt the term ‘stay at home mum’ is quite ridiculous because I don’t think many of us actually stay at home that much. The cabin fever can become only too real if you fall into the trap of staying in the house too much and I always think it’s much healthier for your body and your mind to get outside as much as possible. I have also found that now Darcie is really a toddler it has become much harder to keep her entertained at home than it is to bundle her up out the door and find something to really capture her attention. How To Look Like You’ve Got It All Together (Even When You Really Don’t!)

We’ve all been there. You’ve been really organised the night before and you’ve been rushing around since 6am, but come 9 o clock when you need to be out the door, the baby has a poo explosion or your toddler decides to try and climb up the chimney. Or there are the days when your house looks like a bomb has hit it and you get a call to say someone is on their way to see you and you have to run around like a maniac with the toy box and the Febreze before they arrive.

Sometimes no matter how hard you try to have it all together; you just don’t. And it’s in these times that I think it’s handy to have a few tricks up your sleeve so at least Judgemental Judy won’t cotton on to how hectic your morning (or your life) has really been. This doesn’t just apply to parents; I’ve always been a disorganised, lastminute.com kind of girl! So I asked some blogger pals for their best tips to share with you all to help you fake it till you make it and at least look like you have it together even if you really don’t. (more…)

Winchester Harvest Festival

If you read my post 10 Autumnal Days Out In Hampshire 2017 you would have seen me mention Hampshire Harvest Festival that was held in the grounds of Winchester Cathedral this weekend. I don’t know if we’ll manage to go to all of the things on that list, but the Harvest Festival was one that I definitely wanted to tick off. So on Saturday afternoon we set off after lunch to have an afternoon wandering around the stalls. (more…)

Dear Darcie,

I really think you’re going to love this time of year. Already we have been for so many puddle-splashing adventures and you’ve spent hours playing with sticks and acorns. I always want you to continue to find joy in every season. We’ve had a summer of hot sticky days; you’ve had your first ice cream and discovered how fun it is to play in the sand and run away from the cold British sea. Now it’s time for us to find new and exciting things to do in Autumn, it’s time for warm coats and pom pom hats and for us to enjoy this new season. Welcome to Autumn, Darcie May. (more…)

20 Facts About Me

About three months ago I was tagged by the lovely Cassandra to do the 20 facts about me tag. As I was searching through my drafts for posts to rescue from the pile, I came across this post totally finished just lacking a picture so here we are. The picture that I’ve added is 21 year old me, around 4 months before getting pregnant and I look so young and carefree! I enjoyed writing this because as you probably know, usually I just write about Darcie but it was nice to write about me for a change. (more…)
