Autumn & Winter Bucket List

Apologies to anyone who is still mourning the end of summer, but I for one am very happy that Autumn has arrived. I actually always used to be such a summer lover, but since having children I much prefer the cooler months. There is no sun cream to reapply every half an hour, no worrying about dehydration and no hot sticky babies that just want to be cuddled. Well, of course the babies are still around but they are less hot and sticky which is a very good thing! I love the age that Darcie is at now as it means that this Christmas will really be the first one that she can properly understand and enjoy. So I really want to make the most of the build up and all the autumnal, festive activities and outings we can do in the mean time. (more…)

Thinking Ahead | How To Cope With Chickenpox

Chickenpox is generally something you only face once as a parent and so I definitely think it’s good to be prepared for when your house is struck with the dreaded virus. When ViraSoothe offered to send me a chickenpox survival kit, I knew it would be a handy thing to have ready for when the inevitable happens. Ernest Grayson Street

I’m so pleased to finally be able to introduce my son to the world.

Ernest Grayson was born shortly after 7am on the 4th of July 2018 and weighed a huge 10lbs 6oz. He surprised us all, not only with his size but also by coming into the world facing upwards, winking at his Daddy.

Darcie’s Second Birthday Party

Today marks one month since Darcie’s second birthday, which means that it also marks one month of me not managing to get this post written. I’m going to go ahead and blame pregnancy for my major procrastination there! (The particularly savvy among you will now realise that actually it is one month and four days now, since she turned two – I think that says it all!) Darcie’s birthday conveniently fell on a Saturday so it was easy enough for us to decide to hold her party on the same day. For her first birthday we just invited family but this year it was really nice to have some of her little friends come along too. (more…)

How ‘Date Night’ Changes Once You Are A Parent

I think we all know how important date nights are once you have children. Gone are the days of being able to swan off for romantic weekends away and spontaneous meals out whenever you please. Your time together now is more precious then ever. Your whole life has changed, and date nights are no exception! You can put on your favourite dress and your partner can spritz his favourite men’s perfume, but things still won’t be the same as they used to be. Adding Character To The Children’s Bedrooms With Posterlounge & A Giveaway

You may have noticed there has been quite a theme with some of my posts recently, I’m determinedly making our house a home one room at a time. Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones and just an extreme form of ‘nesting’ but recently I’m just loving making little changes and improvements to the house to really make it somewhere that I love to be. One of my favourite ways to add character and personality to a room is by introducing prints and wall art to the space. Our whole house is painted white which I love as it is very airy and bright but I also love colour and pattern so I’ve been using wall art to introduce this all around the house. (more…)
